UPDATE // Zambia

At first, let me apologize for the long gap in posts.  Internet has been too scarce and slow and expensive when available to throw any images with pictures up.  But my hope is that over the next few weeks I can get caught up on stories.

I’m currently in Kabwe, Zambia.  My last posts were from my first few projects during my time in Kenya.  Over the next few weeks I will be posting stories from the rest of my time in Kenya.  So continue checking the blog so you don’t get behind.

For those of you who don’t follow my tweets or receive prayer updates I sincerely apologize that it’s been a month since updating.

I arrived in Zambia on June 3rd.  I spend several days here in Kabwe at a Dairy Farm started by Bright Hope Word finishing up Kenya projects and organizing my next travels.  I then took an 8 hour bus ride to a town called Samfya.  If you look at google maps you should find it.  It’s at the base of a huge gorgeous lake.  Samfya served as my base for 2 weeks.  I was blessed to stay with an amazing family who love their work and the people they interact with on a daily basis.  Not to mention one of the best views I’ve seen from a front porch (pic coming soon).  In Samfya there is a partner local organization that is doing absolutely amazing work.  But I spent most of my time traveling to remote villages documenting work by other projects that we have less amount of media on.

The last few weeks have been filled with dreadfully long bus rides, 9 hour boat rides across lakes, dirt bike rides deep into the bush and driving myself to the middle of nowhere Zambia with no cell coverage to meet partners and see their work.  To visit all the partners here, we have had to reduce the amount of time in each project but have still been able to get a good overview of each project as well as hear some amazing stories of some people who’s lives have been changed by churches been active in their communities about reducing poverty and caring for orphans and vulnerable.

I’m currently working on those stories as well and will be posting as well when finished.  I’m in Kabwe for a few days and will be heading out to the Copperbelt in a few days to meet some other partners.
