Degitu Ayalew is one of the widows who comes to the feeding center everyday. She says she is 50, but the workers at the feeding center say she is really closer to around 75. She lives alone. The feeding center provides not only a place to get food but also a place for her to socialize with other people her age. One day she let us come see her house. She lives in a building that was built by the Italians during their occupation of Ethiopia some 70 years ago. The building has been seperated into rooms with it’s own entry so a person home is really just one room in the building.
